On Saturday, April 26th, 2014, during Haggin Oaks Golf Expo, world-renowned golf club designer Roger Cleveland (yes, THAT Roger Cleveland) will fit one lucky person for a set of Callaway Mack Daddy 2 Wedges. Here is how you enter to win this once in a life time opportunity:

· On Friday, April 25th, the first day of Haggin Oaks Expo, demo a Callaway golf club product from Haggin Oaks Club Fitter Mark McEvoy in the Haggin Oaks Super Shop or go to the Callawaytent on the front side of the driving range.

· Once you demo or purchase a Callaway Golf club or golf ball product, you will fill out a numbered entry form and receive a ball pit ball. That ball will   be placed in a large tub for a drawing at the end of business day, April 25th. 

* 1 ball pit ball will be given for demoing any number of Callaway clubs on the range.

* 1 ball pit ball will be given for every dozen Callaway golf balls purchased from Mark McEvoy.

* 2 ball pit balls will be given for every Callaway X-HOT2/BIG BERTHA hybrid or  fairway wood purchased from Mark McEvoy.

Haggin Oaks Golf Expo... Largest Demo Days You Have Ever Been To...

This weekend is the biggest golf weekend of the year at Haggin Oaks.  From April 27-29 Haggin Oaks will be hosting the largest demo days in the country.  Other than the PGA Merchandise Show, there is nothing else like this around.  All the major golf manufacturers will be in attendance and will be providing free club demos on the driving range from 9-5 each day.

A Big Year for Cobra Puma Golf

2012 is going to be a BIG year for the Cobra Puma Golf Company.  From the sneak previews that I have seen, the line up of clubs and clothing are going to be excellent.  Last year Puma bought the rights to Cobra Golf and since then they have been developing a product line that is more appealing to the next generation of golfers.  With new desings, colors, and technology most retailers are already commenting that Cobra Puma has developed a brand that will not only perform well but also get you geared up for golf from head to toe. 

Pictured above are the new LONG TOM Driver and the ZL Encore.  These will be two of the hottest drivers next year.  The LONG TOM has a 48" Blackbird shaft.  There is no question that you will pick up distance, my only concern is will it stay in the fairway.  I have hit it and I picked up a solid 20 yards of carry.  The ZL Encore will have the E9 face technology which will allow for better off center shots.  It will be offered in a white or black finish.  Their new irons (no pictures or detail available to the public yet) have been tested and results are showing that they are possibly going to be the longest irons on the market.  For more information on the new clubs, check out the Cobra website. (http://www.cobragolf.com/)  You will begin to see these new clubs as early as November, the rest of the clubs will be out by March of 2012.

I have been a Callaway staff member for a few years now. The clubs have been great and everyone at Callaway has been a pleasure to work with.  But in 2012 I will be switching to the Cobra Puma team. The Old Course at St. Andrews... Part 1 - Front 9

Finally bringing you footage from the Old Course at St. Andrews. This has to be one of the greatest golf memories of my life. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have the opportunity to play the most famous course in the world. It was truly a dream come true! I shot so much footage that I have to bring it to you in two parts and there is still more that I wish I could share.

I was in golf heaven from the moment I stepped off the bus till the final putt on the 18th hole. After ten holes I was 1 under... The round consisted of 3 birdies (9,10,12), 3 bogeys, and 2 doubles. Those pot bunkers were penalizing. The course was magnificent, picture perfect weather, and a solid round of golf.

Expo Prize Winners!!

Haggin Oaks Golf Expo was a big hit this year!! Thousands of people attended the Largest Demo Days in the country. If you missed out be sure to plan on coming next year. We had raffle boxes for balls, putter, wedge and Puma gear set up in the Super Shop and our winners have been picked. All the winners have already been contacted so if your name wasn't drawn this time we hope that you become a follower of the blog so that you have a chance to win future prizes. Our first winner, Vicente, already came to pick up his golf balls at the Super Shop!

Day 3 - Golf at Carnoustie... Can't get much better than this!

So here we go.... My first day of golf in Scotland and I get to play one of the best ever, Carnoustie! I know that the first couple videos had more of the travel but this is what you have all been waiting for. Playing Carnoustie the day after a European Tour event was such a great treat. The course played tough but the weather was unbeatable! I don't think that Callaway could have planned it much better. It may be a little long but I wanted to be able to share as much as possible with everyone. I hit some of the best shots of my life and had some of the toughest bunker shots and lies I have faced on any golf course. Some people call it "Car-Nasty" and now I know why. If the weather was not as nice as it was the scores would have been a lot higher.

I have only played a couple of links style courses, but none of my previous experience could have prepared me for the true links style that I faced at Carnoustie and the other courses on the trip. I will tell you more about what my favorite parts of the trip and toughest holes were when I wrap up the video series. The next video is taken on the same day. A few of us could not resist the opportunity to play another 18 with such perfect weather. The last time I walked 36 holes on the same day was when I passed my P.A.T.

Day 2 - Arrival in Scotland...

Finally arrived after just over 24 hours of travel. 3 different long flights from Sacramento and all the luggage made it (at least for myself). Still had some traveling to do to get to the hotel before we could start the festivities so I thought that I would share some of my first day in Scotland with you. A little scenery, history and more... Carnoustie is next so stay tuned!

Day 1 - Traveling to Scotland

It's been a long time in the making but here is the first video from my trip to Scotland which I took in October 2010. With the golf season quickly approaching I thought that this would be a great way to kick it off! I posted this video a while back but wanted to share it again.

I was very fortunate to win this trip through a Callaway sales contest held at Haggin Oaks. Callaway sponsored, planned and executed a trip of a life time! Future videos will include Carnoustie, St. Andrews, Royal Dornoch, and much more. This was hands down the best trip I have ever been on! What do you DRIVE??

When you look for a new car do you make your decision based on color? Or whats under the hood? It is very easy to make something look flashy from the outside, but what really counts in golf is how will this club improve my performance!

When I think of Lamborghini I think of FAST! But not many people, including myself, can say that they own or have driven a Lamborghini. At an early age I dreamed of owning 4 Lamborghini's (seriously... I still have that 4th grade assignment somewhere). They are one of the fastest cars on the road and they look stylish. Golf and Lifestyle Magazine Article... Gear Up in the Winter

Back in October I was featured in Golf and Lifestyle Magazine. I apologize that it has taken me so long to get this up but I thought that I would share it with you again if you missed it. After this article was published I went on an amazing trip to Scotland with a group from Callaway. It was a trip of a life time and I will be sharing some of the pictures and videos from the trip very soon.

Golf during the winter months...

The golf "season" may be slowing down now that winter is in full swing, but this is a great time to get geared up for next year and work on your game. Right now many golf manufacturers are starting to release their new products. Callaway has released the new Diablo Octane forged composite Driver and Woods. Titleist introduced the new 910 Driver. Nike just put out the MachSpeed Black Drivers and a couple new iron sets. Ping, Mizuno, and Taylormade have also released some of their new products. If you are looking to improve your equipment feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help you find the right club and fit you properly for it.

With the weather being so cold and the busy holiday season ahead of us, many people do not have as much time to dedicate to a full round of golf. Now is a great time to come take a few lessons from me a make some changes to your swing. If you can find the time to work on your game during these slow golf months, you will be one step ahead of your golf buddies who are going into golf hibernation. Make sure you dedicate some time each week on the driving range and putting green. Even if that just means you are swinging the clubs in your backyard or putting on the carpet inside. I would be happy to work with you and make improvements to your swing that will help you shoot lower scores.

Don't let your game suffer during these slow golf months.
